Responsive web design for Swiss engineering company
For FUCHS AG - a Swiss engineering company - I completely redesigned their website www.fuchsag.com.
Thanks to responsive web design, the website offers a better user experience even on smartphones and tablets. The design is in line with the company motto, "Simply efficient".
The customer placed particular importance on being able to enter new data faster, such as information on new used machines and references. With the MetaModel extension for Contao, it has become possible with this project to cope with the continually increasing amounts of data for used machines, references, downloads and worldwide distributors, as well as to enter the data in the backend in a uniformly structured way, to manage it, and to display it flexibly in the website frontend.
It was the simple and fast data entry that can be carried out by FUCHS’ staff - even in multiple languages - which prompted the customer to opt for implementing the website using the Contao open source content management system (CMS) and the MetaModel extension. A new used machine can now be published online by the customer within 10 minutes and in four languages. Additional languages can also be easily set up if needed.
In the website frontend, visitors can quickly find the information required thanks to extensive filtering options, such as displaying only references from the food industry for sifting machines in which grated cheese is processed, or only ‘Mixomat A’ type used machines in very good condition, etc. The MetaModels in Contao 3 was implemented in cooperation with CyberSpectrum.
In order to improve the user interaction, a 'call to action' button for the used machines was also installed, through which the machines can be directly requested using a simple form.
